HOME SECURITY CHECKLIST:

LOCK UP!

• Lock every door and window, including the door to your garage.
• Secure your pet doors (if you have any).
• Double check your sliding doors are locked and secure (if have any).
• Activate your home security system and let your company know you’ll be out of town (if you have a security system).
• Lock up your ladders, tools, and lawn furniture.
• Put valuable in a safe or safety deposit box.
• Remove “hidden” keys.

KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOR?

Reach out to a trusted neighbor to:

• Watch your house.
• Hold onto emergency contact info.
• Collect any newspapers, flyers, or mail that will arrive.
• Park in your driveway

ANYONE HOME?

• Consider installing light and TV timers.
• Trim overgrown trees or shrubbery.
• Install motion sensor lighting.
• Avoid posting you’re away on social media.
